I
s it time for pie already? Oops! It is Pi Day. That means the month is almost half over. Now I can stop counting the days to the end of the year. That reminds me: it has been one of those years already! I discovered this fact: there is so much more to learn about the world and about myself.
There is even a lot more for me to think about. In spite of the bitterness generated by the world or even by myself, I am trying to not reside in the hate or hopelessness.
Presently, it seems that the world has fallen apart. Must I accept that as the inevitable result of our failure as humans to take care of this earth and each other? I have not reached that conclusion yet, but it is getting pretty close.
I do resign myself to believing that the world can get better if we choose.
I’m a little busy right now… making pies. I like them. It’s better when anyone else loves them.
Here’s to the sweetness of life – from the ground up.
Tasting the goodness! That’s happiness.
More happiness
The concept of eudemonia comes from the philosophy of Aristotle (384-322 b.c.). It centers on happiness as the result of an active life governed by reason.
It is the term for the highest human good in older Greek tradition.
Is it possible to vote for happiness? It should be placed on the ballot. Would reasonable people elect health, hope, and happiness?
It’s not too late, but it’s time
A future is being planned.
Buildings are being built. Food is being grown. All around the planet, people are living and loving… maybe not where you are. The bill for that omission is being calculated… awaiting presentation.
Will the price be too much for the world to bear? I hope it is not too late.
For things to get better, we may have to start from scratch. It might not seem like things can be different or better, but on this day, this hour, this minute, a future is being planned. Don’t you want to be a part of it? Wake up, stand up, and claim it.
It’s dawn, then dusk…. everyday. You can start with one good year.
It’s just pie, right?
What you put into your mind and body comes out as hope or despair. That is not a pun but the truth. Sweet potatoes are a superfood high in beta carotene, vitamins E and C, iron, potassium and vitamin B-6. Brown sugar, flavoring extracts, butter, cream, eggs and a little salt added to all that sweetness make a delicious, decadent pie – from scratch.
Or is it pi?
Or do you prefer this one? You cannot eat it and you certainly won’t gain any calories from it!
pi (π) is 3.14
or,
the answer to that winning game show question:
pi (π) to 10 decimals is 3.1415926535
Another important thing just in case someone needs to know: today is March 14 – Pi Day – all day long. That’s 3/14. We all agree on this day to dwell on a piece of pie. Couldn’t we agree on peace, too?
Enjoy!
