Äriputra, all things have the characteristic of emptiness,
no arising, no ceasing; no purity, no impurity; no deficiency, no completeness.
– from the Heart Sutra
The Buddhaâs teachings do not say, âWorship me, because Iâm the Buddha. I can take you to heaven, to nirvana.â
The Buddhaâs teachings say, âLearn about the world, learn about yourselfâyour body and your mind.â
The buddha dharma is about understanding yourself; itâs not about faith in the Buddha. The Buddha taught us to realize understanding by first training in meditation.
Know your mind and detach yourself from your ego. Analyze your mind. Develop clear understanding. Look at it with enlightenment.

This and several posts this summer will chronicle my pilgrimage in Japan where I am walking the 1200 kilometer-long Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage. Read my announcement here.
I am excited, and I am here, still walking. And just know this, I will return to tell the tale!
