โช๏ธEach prefecture has a temple named Kokubun-ji, which are official state Buddhist temples.
รธ Ichinomiya (Prefectural Shrine) of Iyo (Ehime)
๐กA ropeway travels from the footbofvthe mountain tobthe temple.
++ The temple was closed during the movement to abolish Buddhism in the Meiji period, and itโs role was taken over by nearby Anraku-ji Temple. Zenraku-ji only regained its full status as a pilgrimage temple in 1994.
โด๏ธ ferry crossing (free to ohenros).
๐ Temple 66, Unpenji, is 2,600 meters above sea level. It boasts Japan`s most advanced ropeway or suspended cable car, which starts from the foot of the mountain and and goes to the peak at a brisk clip of 10 meters per second, covering a distance of 660 meters. This temple is actually situated in Tokushima prefecture –
,if you are judged as a wrongdoer by Kลbล Daishi, you are not allowed to pass through the checkpoint to the next temple. Unpenji temple is the first Sekisho temple in Sanuki (old name of Kagawa) and also the most difficult one.
,if you pass the Unpenji temple that means your journey in Sanuki will get easier.
^^ Temple 75, Zentsuji, is the home of the Zentsuji sect of Shingon (Tantric) Buddhism. It shares the spotlight with Mount Koya of Wakayama Prefecture and Kyoto`s Touji Temple as the three sacred sites of Kobo Daishi, who was born in what is now Zentsuji City.
๐Temple 85, the cable car ride up to the temple provides a beautiful, sweeping view of Takamatsu City.
